Ingredients for Christmas Jam

Steps for Making Christmas Jam

The first step is to process the strawberries and cranberries in a food processor. You can pulse them to a desired texture, depending on how chunky you want the jam. The strawberries and cranberries may need to be thawed to a degree for processing.

Add the fruit mixture to a large pot, then add the sugar. Bring to a full rolling boil and boil for one minute.

Remove the pot from the heat and add the pectin, stir it in completely.

Let the jam cool for 5-7 minutes, then skim as much foam off as possible.

Ladle the hot jam into canning jars using a canning funnel. Leave a 1/4 inch headspace.

Wipe the rim of the jar with a damp rag, remove the air bubbles and add the lids. Add the canning jars to the boiling water bath and process jars at a hard boil for 10 minutes. I use the Ball electric water bath canner and love it.

Remove the hot jars from the hot water bath after the processing time with a jar lifter and place jars on a kitchen towel on the counter. Do not disturb for 24 hours.
