This easy instant pot lasagna soup recipe brings a taste of lasagna without much effort or time. It is the perfect meal that the whole family will love!
Simple Steps to Make the Instant Pot Lazy Lasagna Soup
- Saute ground beef in the instant pot, drain grease
- Add seasonings
- Add beef or chicken broth
- Break up regular lasagna noodles and add to the pot
- Add one jar of spaghetti sauce and do not stir
- Cook in instant pot for 5 minutes, let release for 10 minutes, then turn off
- Add cream to some of the sauce and then add to the pot and stir
Ingredients
- Ground beef – Substitutions include lean ground beef, ground turkey, ground chicken, or Italian sausage.
- Minced Onion, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper – Other appropriate seasonings include onion power, dried or fresh basil, oregano.
- Beef Broth – Chicken broth would also work well in this recipe.
- Regular Lasagna Noodles – Any type of pasta basically could be substituted, with best options being mini lasagna noodles, penne pasta and bowtie pasta.
- Spaghetti Sauce – Any type of pasta sauce, such as marinara sauce would work in this recipe.
- Heavy Cream – Half n Half could be used.
This recipe does not contain any cheese, but the cheese could be added during the recipe or preferably stirred in after cooking in the pressure cooker. Mozzarella cheese, cottage cheese, ricotta cheese, and parmesan cheese are options.
Detailed Steps to Making Instant Pot Lazy Lasagna Soup
Turn Instant Pot to sauté function. Add 1 Tablespoon olive oil, heat and then add the ground beef and cook until browned. Drain off grease and turn the Instant Pot off.

Add minced onions, garlic powder, italian seasoning, parsley flakes, salt and black pepper.

Pour in the 3 cups of beef broth or chicken broth and scrape bottom of the pot to prevent the burn notice.

Break five lasagna noodles into small pieces and add them to the pot.

Add one jar (24 ounces) of pasta sauce and do not stir.

Put the lid on the instant pot, and set the valve to sealing. Pressure cook on high pressure for 5 minutes. Let natural release for 10 minutes and set the valve to vent until venting is complete and the lid is ready to open. Open the lid.
Add the 1/3 cup of heavy cream to 1/2 cup of the soup in a separate bowl and mix. Add the mixture to the pot.

Add the heavy cream mixture to the rest of the ingredients, stir, and serve.

This lazy lasagna recipe is an easy recipe that can be whipped up at a moments notice as a one pot meal and is delicious. It would be excellent served with garlic bread and of course red wine! The next time you are trying to decide what to have for dinner, try this easy meal!

- 1 tsp parsley flakes
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 3 cups chicken broth or beef broth
- 5 lasagna noodles
- 1 (24 oz) pasta sauce
- 1/3 cup heavy cream
- (Optional: mozzarella, parmesan, cottage or ricotta cheese)
