Ingredients for Pineapple Jalapeno Bourbon BBQ Sauce
- 6 cups Pineapple: Pureed
- 1 red Bell Pepper
- 1 Onion
- 4 Jalapeno Peppers: Use preferred amount for desired spice level
- 3/4 Cup Apple Cider Vinegar
- 2 tsp Dry Mustard
- 1 Tbsp Canning Salt
- 2 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
- 1/8 cup Bourbon
- 2 tsp Minced Garlic
- 1/2 Cup Honey
Detailed Steps to Make the Pineapple Jalapeno Bourbon BBQ Sauce
Cut the pineapple up into pieces.

Finely puree the pineapple, onions and peppers in a food processor. You can also chop the ingredients up and use an immersion blender. If you touch the inside of the hot peppers, wear gloves. This jalapeno corer works great! Add all of the chopped ingredients to a large pot.
Add these and remaining ingredients to a large pot.
Heat over medium-high heat to a slight boil and then let simmer for at least 30 minutes on medium low heat to allow the flavors to develop into a delicious sauce.

Ladle the hot pineapple jalapeno bourbon BBQ sauce into canning jars using a canning funnel. Leave a 1/4 inch headspace.

Wipe the rim of the jar with a damp rag, remove the air bubbles and add the lids. Add the canning jars to the boiling water bath and process jars at a hard boil for 15 minutes. I use the Ball electric water bath canner and love it.

Remove the hot jars from the hot water bath after the processing time with a jar lifter and place jars on a kitchen towel on the counter. Do not disturb for 24 hours.

Enjoy!

Can I replace the Apple cider vinegar with regular white vinegar?
Yes, that would be fine. Thanks!
I noticed there is no pectin in this recipe….is this correct?
Yes that is correct. You would not want the BBQ sauce to set up like jelly. Thanks for asking and checking out my recipes!
Thank you for your reply….. I’m making it on Friday…..makes sense now about the pectin 🤦🏼
I hope you like it! I think it tastes pretty good!
Hi, I haven’t done a lot of canning but I love pineapple and spice. The recipe calls for 6 cups of pineapple. Is it measured after pureed? I take it this is fresh pineapple.
Thanks for the comment and yes it is after being pureed. You would not have to can it necessarily and you could possibly reduce the recipe. I have several other pineapple spice recipes on my website actually! I will include links. Gives me an idea of combining all my pineapple recipes into one post. I want to also add a pineapple salsa recipe someday soon!
