This easy recipe for canning green tomatoes for frying is a wonderful way to preserve those end of season unripe green tomatoes to enjoy as fried green tomatoes during the winter time!


-Green Tomatoes -Water -Lemon Juice

Slice the green tomatoes

Pack the slices into a canning jar and then add boiling water to the jar

Add lemon juice to the jar of green tomatoes

Wipe the rims of the jar, remove the air bubbles and place lids and add screw bands.

Add the filled hot jars to the boiling water bath with a jar lifter.

Add the canning jars to the boiling water bath and process jars at a full rolling boil.
